Q: What is the difference between my Pack and my Den?
A: Your Pack is the larger group of Cub Scouts you belong to, ranging from Kindergarten to 5th Grade. We belong to Pack 006.
Your Den is your specific grade level/age group (i.e. Lions are Kindergarteners, Tigers are 1st graders, etc.). You will typically meet once a month with the Pack, and 1-2 times per month with your Den.
Q: What do the Scouting America dues and the Pack 6 dues cost/include?
A: Cub Scouts will first register or renew with the overarching organization, Scouting America. The Scouting America dues for the 2025-2026 school year cost $85.00. These dues cover: expanded liability insurance for those participating in approved Scouting activities, enhanced background checks for adult leaders, a variety of program resources, and youth protection and leader-specific training,
Cub Scouts will then register or renew with Pack 6 and pay their Pack dues of $100.00 for the 2025-2026 year. Pack dues cover: awards & advancement (belt loops/badges), Pack meeting expenses, Den supplies allowances, Pack Leader registration, camping equipment maintenance, Pinewood Derby supplies (i.e. car kit, track maintenance, and race awards), and your navy blue Cub Scout T-Shirt.
Q: What uniforms do we wear and when?
A: The Class A uniform consists of the official Cub Scout button down shirt (navy for K-4th graders and khaki for 5th graders) and navy belt, which is where you will display any earned belt loops. Class A uniforms are typically worn to Den and Pack meetings, and during flag ceremonies on camping trips. The Class B uniform consists of the navy blue Pack 6 t-shirt. Class B uniforms may be worn during certain volunteer activities, like garden clean-up days.
